I C/Ped my post from the other thread. I'll go in and edit it (probably by next week) when I have time.
Efficient combination can save you a lot of attack. The idea is to try to use low risk combinations for a high reward result, use combinations where the monsters have the lowest possible attack sum (I'm assuming you don't give a damn about defence, since you really don't need defence until like level 200). Holy+Water is probably the best example of this. Sacing a Blue Dragon and Holy Dragon risks only 4600 attack, and rewards you with an Asura with 14300 attack. Even if you fail, you could still potentially gain Attack if you get a Diablo , 5400 attack, or Wind Dragon, 4750 attack. SGod combinations and above is a whole other story though, since leader effects come into play and suddenly Water/Earth are a lot more valuable and Air is a lot less valuable.
Earth monsters in particular are an oddball. Earth+any element=the second element. Earth monsters themselves aren't very good, but they're fantastic for combinations. Chances are you wont have many in your army, but they're extremely valuable nonetheless. You know that time you got 3 King Kongs from world boss and got pissed? Don't be. In fact, I'd actually be pretty happy about it, Earth is low supply, high demand. Unless it's an SGod or higher, feel free to go crazy with those "lame" King Kongs in combination. It's sometimes a good idea to keep slamming Earths together to get a Druid King, then use that to get whatever SGod you want, or just simply make a Giant King Kong for the massive income boost.
My take on all the possible combinations:
Fire:
1A. Fire+Earth: This is the most efficient.
1B. Air+Holy: More practical since Earth monsters are in high demand. You'll mostly be doing this until you've farmed Salamanders/
3. Fire+Fire: Only do this if you've farmed a bajillion Salamanders and are trying to get a SGod or something.
4. Dark+Water: Don't do this, waste of attack.
Water:
1. Water+Earth: This is the most efficient.
2. Water+Water: Again use this if you've got a bajillion Undines.
3. Dark+Holy: Don't do this unless you're desperate or going for SGod.
4. Fire+Air: NEVER EVER do Fire+Air, you lose attack even if this combination succeeds.
Air:
1. Water+Holy: Most efficient non SGod+ combination in the game, the SGod and above Airs have crap abilities though, so you'd be better off aiming for Fire/Water/Dark.
2. Air+Earth: Don't do this unless you're desperate.
3. Air+Air: Don't do this period.
Earth:
1. Earth+Earth: This is the only combination that is acceptable, one of the reasons Earth has such high demand for combinations, but has such low supply.
2. Fire+Holy: Please don't do this, like ever.
3. Dark+Air: Disgusting, absolutely disgusting. horrifyingly repulsively disgusting. This is the second worst combination in the game. You should never, under any circumstance, even think about doing this.
Dark:
1. Fire+Water: Dark types give the highest attack in the game, so this is definitely worth it.
2. Dark+Earth: Risking a Dark stings, but sometimes you need all your Salamanders and Undines to make a Hell Phoenix or Storm Road, so this will have to do. Again emphasizing how valuable those King Kongs you despise so much really are.
3. Dark+Dark: Please don't risk this, this combination is what leads to those stories of top players losing 5 million in 1 day.
Holy:
1. Holy+Holy: Holy monster suck. This is the only one that you should even consider, and even then you're usually better off using those Holy monsters to make Air/Fire.
2. Holy+Earth: At first glance this isn't that bad, but this is a complete waste of an Earth monster. NEVER EVER do this.
3. Air+Water: Terrible, you're losing attack even if this succeeds.
4-5906703587021. Pretend Holy monsters aren't a part of this game
5906703587022. Dark+Fire: Ewwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww! Why did Gamevil even make this combination possible? You're wasting what most consider to be the two most desirable elements to get by far and away the worst. Words cannot describe how awful this combination is and slap yourself across the face every time you even think about it. Absolutely nothing good can come out of this. It's the most inefficient, highest risk:lowest reward combination possible, and you lose attack no matter what happens. Hell, the Dark monsters themselves have almost equal attack as the Holy you're trying (but shouldn't be) to make. To rub salt in the wound, Fire has arguably the best leader ability as well, while Holy has probably the worst. Oh and don't forget the fact that with the gold you just wasted for this abomination Gamevil mistakenly calls a combination, you could literally buy enough monsters that they give higher total attack than the new Holy. This is by far and away the worst combination in the game, and justifies its own tier of suck.
Hope this helps everyone.
